We got together in November 2017 to sing in the Chch City Chorus Christmas Show and then decided to keep singing together.
All of us have been involved in singing barbershop for a number of years and joined Sweet Adelines as follows; Ruth Carson, Tenor (1990); Mary Black, Bass (1994); Edna Byron, Lead (2004) and Vivien Daley, Baritone (2000). We have all been part of several quartets before including some of us with each other.
We enjoy singing a range of music including jazz, swing, blues along with traditional barbershop and a variety of Christmas music.
Alfresco is available to perform at functions and in March 2019 we were privileged to sing at the re-opening of the Chch Town Hall which was amazing and we opened "Jazz in the Garden" an event held by St John of God Hauora Trust. We look forward to performing at more events in due course.
