Rowena brings to the faculty a wide range of musical skills. She is an Approved Music Arranger, and Certified Director through Sweet Adelines International. She is certified through Debra Lynn to teach Bel Canto singing and has formal piano and voice qualifications through Trinity and Royal Schools.
Rowena is co-Assistant Director of Waikato Rivertones Chorus. She is the ACP coordinator and Copyright Specialist for Region 35, and is a Music Candidate in the Sweet Adelines International Judging program, and a Musicality candidate in the Australasian Barbershop Judging Guild.
Rowena arranges for many vocal ensembles worldwide and is internationally renowned for her arrangement of A Million Dreams and many others. She aims to bring fresh educational topics that typically have not yet been explored before within Sweet Adelines.
Her special interests include Effortless Bel Canto Singing, the Circle of Fifths, Arranging for Barbershop, the Physics of Sound, Demystifying Judging, and she has a love of creating arrangements that are accessible for young, as well as mature singers.
