Jessie has taken a lead role in Young Women in Harmony (YWIH) for a number of years, including holding the role of YWIH coordinator from 2017-2020. In the role she was responsible for coordinating regional and national Young Singers in Harmony (YSIH) contests which included liaising with all the colleges involved, recruiting volunteers, fundraising and applying for grants. She was also a valuable member of the judging panel at several of the YSIH regional contests.
Before stepping down from the YWIH role Jessie worked closely with Sweet Adelines NZ and NZ Barbershop Harmony Society representatives to set up a sustainable team to carry on this important youth barbershop work that has gone on behind the scenes. She remains involved in this work as team coordinator of the YSIH management team. Along with her quartet Zeal, Jessie has also travelled within New Zealand to provide workshops to inspire and educate other young singers. Congratulations Jessie.
